Adobe has updated its generative AI tool Firefly with a new video editor that works with text commands. Ivan Mehta reports for TechCrunch that this allows for precise changes to existing video clips. Instead of regenerating an entire scene, users can now alter specific elements, colors, or camera angles using simple text prompts. The company is also integrating AI models from third parties. For instance, Runway’s model enables specific instructions like “change the sky to overcast”. Another model from Topaz Labs lets users upscale videos to higher resolutions such as 4K. Adobe’s own Firefly Video model can even replicate camera movements from a reference video, giving users more creative control over their projects.
