Adobe unveils a host of new AI features

Adobe unveiled a host of new AI capabilities for video production, image editing, vector graphics and marketing teams.

At its annual MAX conference, the company introduced the Firefly Video Model. According to Adobe, this AI system can generate videos from text descriptions or images. It can also be used to enhance existing video clips.

Adobe also emphasizes the commercial security of the Firefly Video Model. The company says it trained the model exclusively with licensed content and public domain material. This approach is designed to avoid legal issues with the commercial use of the videos produced. Adobe is responding to concerns about copyright issues with AI-generated content.

The Firefly video model can also be found in products such as Premiere Pro. In this video editing software, users can now extend video clips or create transitions with AI support. The Generative Extend feature extends clips at the beginning or end. Adobe also offers text-to-video and image-to-video capabilities. This allows creative professionals to generate new video content based on text descriptions or reference images.

Photoshop has also received new AI capabilities. An improved removal tool now automatically detects and removes distortions and unwanted elements in an image. Adobe has also updated the Generative Fill feature with an updated AI model.

Furthermore, Adobe is introducing new AI-powered vector graphics tools for Illustrator. In InDesign, users can now use AI to adapt images to different layout requirements.

Last but not least, Adobe introduces GenStudio for Performance Marketing, a new AI application for marketing teams. The tool is designed to simplify the creation and optimization of campaign content across multiple channels. Users can create variations of a creative, test them across platforms, and optimize them based on performance data. Adobe says it is working with platforms such as Google, Meta and TikTok to improve integration and data analysis.
