Google is starting to roll out Gemini Live outside of the “Advanced“ plan on Android. This feature allows natural conversations with the AI assistant, including the ability to interrupt answers. It’s similar to ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode, which was introduced months ago but is still not available to all users.
As Abner Li reports for 9to5Google, Gemini Live is accessible via a new circular icon in the app. A text transcript will be saved in the history section when a conversation is finished.
Live does not currently support Gemini extensions for Gmail or YouTube Music, but that feature is coming. Instead, Google is introducing ten new voices that can be selected in the settings.
Gemini Live is initially available for Android devices that are set to English.
