Meta has introduced a new feature called Vibes, a feed for creating and sharing short videos generated by artificial intelligence. According to the company, the feature is rolling out in the Meta AI app and on the meta.ai website.
Vibes presents users with a feed of AI-generated videos which can serve as inspiration. The company states that the feed will become more personalized over time.
How Vibes works
Users can create their own videos from scratch, use existing content, or remix videos they see in the feed. The platform provides tools to add visuals, layer in music, and adjust styles. Once finished, users can share their videos directly to the Vibes feed, send them to friends via direct message, or cross-post them to Instagram and Facebook as Stories and Reels. It is also possible to tap on a Meta AI video on Instagram to remix it in the Meta AI app.
In its announcement, Meta said Vibes is intended to make it easier for people to find creative inspiration and experiment with its AI media tools. The launch comes as Meta seeks to accelerate its work in artificial intelligence. Reuters reports that the company reorganized its AI division in June into a new unit called Superintelligence Labs. The news agency notes this is part of a broader strategy to generate new revenue from its AI products, including the Meta AI app, advertising tools, and smart glasses. The Meta AI app also continues to function as a hub for managing the company’s AI glasses and interacting with the Meta AI assistant.
