Meta is establishing a new product group dedicated to developing AI tools for the 200 million businesses using its platforms, Sara Fischer reports for Axios. Former Salesforce AI CEO Clara Shih will lead the initiative as VP of business AI, focusing on creating and monetizing AI solutions for business users. The group aims to build tools beyond advertising, including AI chatbots for customer interaction on WhatsApp and Messenger. According to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, businesses using their AI-driven image generation tool have seen a 7% increase in conversions. The company’s existing AI chatbot has attracted over 500 monthly active users since its April launch, while their Llama language model has been downloaded more than 600 million times.
