Did you know Apple has integrated OpenAI’s Dall-E image generator into its Messages app? According to Tim Hardwick from MacRumors, the feature allows iPhone users to create AI-generated images directly within message conversations. The functionality is available on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 models with Apple Intelligence enabled.
Users can activate the feature by configuring ChatGPT integration in their device’s settings under “Apple Intelligence & Siri.” The setup process is straightforward and doesn’t require a ChatGPT account, though users can optionally connect their existing accounts.
To generate images, users simply activate Siri while in a Messages conversation and begin their request with “ChatGPT,” followed by their image description. The system processes the request and places the generated image directly in the message field. Users can refine results through suggestions or custom prompts if the initial image doesn’t meet their expectations.
The integration represents a notable upgrade to Apple’s AI capabilities, offering higher quality results compared to the company’s existing Image Playground feature.
