Adobe has released its Firefly Video Model for public beta testing, introducing AI-powered video generation tools that the company claims are trained exclusively on licensed content. The new service allows users to create videos from text descriptions or images through Adobe’s redesigned Firefly web application and Premiere Pro integration.
The video generator produces 1080p clips at 24 frames per second, with a maximum length of five seconds. Users can control various aspects including camera angles, motion, and atmospheric effects. Generation time currently takes about 90 seconds per clip.
Adobe has introduced two subscription tiers:
- Standard plan: $9.99/month for 2,000 video/audio credits
- Pro plan: $29.99/month for 7,000 credits
Key features include:
- Text-to-video and image-to-video generation
- Integration with Adobe Creative Cloud applications
- Content Credentials digital certification for AI-generated content
- Commercial usage rights through licensed training data
The company emphasizes its focus on providing legally safe tools for professional creators, distinguishing itself from competitors like OpenAI’s Sora. According to Adobe, major brands including Dentsu, Gatorade, and Stagwell are already testing the technology.
