Slack is introducing a range of new artificial intelligence tools to enhance workplace productivity. According to an article by Michael Nuñez for VentureBeat, the features include AI-powered summaries of conversations, explanations for unfamiliar jargon, and the automation of routine tasks. The platform’s new enterprise search function allows users to find information across connected applications like Google Drive and Microsoft Teams from within Slack. This move positions owner Salesforce to compete more directly with Microsoft’s Copilot and Google’s Duet AI. Simultaneously, Salesforce is restricting external AI companies from using Slack data to train their models. A Salesforce executive stated that the AI’s key differentiator is its use of context from the platform’s unique conversational data.
