Slack is expanding its offering to include AI agents from third-party providers and customers. The new feature allows paying users to integrate AI agents from partners like Asana, Cohere, and Adobe, as well as their own agents, into the chat platform. Rob Seaman, Slack’s head of product, told VentureBeat that office workers are increasingly looking to consolidate their workflows in one place. The AI agents are designed to make it easier to access information from multiple sources and automate routine tasks. Slack emphasizes that the agents have limited access to customer data, which cannot be exported or used to train the AI. In addition to the AI agents, Slack is introducing other AI-based features, including automated notes for huddles and an AI-powered workflow builder.
