The AI company Perplexity has launched a new subscription tier called Perplexity Max, priced at $200 per month. In an article for TechCrunch, Maxwell Zeff reports that the plan targets the company’s most active users. The subscription offers unlimited use of a tool for generating reports and spreadsheets, early access to new features like the forthcoming AI browser “Comet”, and priority access to advanced AI models. With this launch, Perplexity joins other major AI providers like OpenAI and Google in offering a premium tier to increase revenue from its core user base. The new plan complements Perplexity’s existing $20 consumer plan and its $40 enterprise plan. This strategy aims to cover the high costs of AI model access and computing power.
