OpenAI has officially launched the full version of its o1 reasoning model, moving it out of preview status. The model, previously codenamed Strawberry, offers improved capabilities in coding, mathematics, and image analysis, with the company claiming a 34% reduction in major errors on complex problems compared to its preview version.
The technology company is introducing a new subscription tier called ChatGPT Pro, priced at $200 per month. This premium offering includes unlimited access to an exclusive version of o1 with enhanced computing power, as well as access to GPT-4o and Advanced Voice features. The existing ChatGPT Plus subscription at $20 per month will continue to be available.
The o1 model is now available to ChatGPT Plus and Team users, with Enterprise and Education users gaining access next week. OpenAI has also announced a grant program that will provide free ChatGPT Pro access to ten medical researchers at leading institutions, with plans to expand the program to other disciplines.
