Microsoft has made OpenAI’s Sora AI video generator available for free through its Bing Video Creator feature on mobile devices. The tool allows users to create five-second videos from text prompts without requiring expensive ChatGPT subscriptions that cost up to $200 monthly, according to a report by Carl Franzen. Users can access the feature through the Bing mobile app on iOS and Android devices worldwide, except in China and Russia. The service provides ten fast video generations for free, with unlimited slower generations afterward. Videos are created in vertical 9:16 format suitable for social media platforms like TikTok, with horizontal format support coming soon. Users can queue up to three video generations simultaneously, and completed videos remain accessible for 90 days. Microsoft positions this as part of its broader AI democratization effort, following previous launches of Bing Image Creator and Copilot features.
