Krea platform unifies AI tools for visual creatives

Krea’s platform aims at visual creatives and integrates multiple generative AI models in one interface, helping designers navigate the overwhelming landscape of AI tools. As reported by Ingrid Lunden in TechCrunch, the San Francisco-based startup has raised $83 million across several funding rounds, including a recent $47 million Series B led by Bain Capital Ventures.

The platform allows designers to input their creative ideas, after which Krea selects the most appropriate AI models for the task. Users can then edit and refine the generated images through intuitive tools that mimic traditional creative workflows, rather than relying solely on text prompts.

“We are building tools for people to be more creative, to be able to focus more on ideas, and to be able to use this new creative medium,” said CEO Victor Perez, who co-founded the company with CTO Diego Rodriguez.

Krea’s approach addresses a key pain point for designers who may not want to become prompt engineers or keep track of rapidly evolving AI models. The platform currently supports image and video generation, with plans to expand into audio and music creation.

The company’s user base already includes creators from organizations such as Pixar, LEGO, Samsung, and Perplexity AI. With its latest funding, Krea plans to develop more enterprise features to complement its current offerings for individuals and small teams.

The startup is reportedly valued at $500 million post-money, according to sources close to the deal.
