A recent survey reveals that most iPhone users are not impressed with Apple’s artificial intelligence features, despite considering AI capabilities important when purchasing smartphones. According to research conducted by SellCell and reported by Ben Lovejoy for 9to5Mac, 73% of Apple Intelligence users find the features either “not very valuable” or adding “little to no value” to their experience. The study shows that 47.6% of iPhone users consider AI features important when choosing a new phone, significantly higher than Samsung users at 23.7%. Among current Apple Intelligence features, Writing Tools proved most popular at 72% usage, followed by notification summaries at 54% and Priority Messages at 44.5%. The recent iOS 18.2 update introduced two new features: Genmoji, allowing users to create custom emoji using AI, and ChatGPT integration with Siri. These additions were not included in the survey’s scope as they were released after the research was conducted. The findings suggest a disconnect between users’ expectations of AI features and their satisfaction with current implementations.
