Gemini in Google Slides can now generate a full, multi-slide presentation from a single prompt. The official blog post explains that users can ground the presentation in existing Google Drive content, match the style of another deck, and receive fully editable slides that allow further adjustments.
According to the post, Gemini also suggests relevant files, emails, and chats that users can choose to add for extra context. The feature works through a step-by-step process in the Slides side panel.
How the workflow works
- Add a prompt in the Slides side panel to start generating a presentation.
- Attach reference files from Drive to ground the content.
- Add an existing deck as a style reference to stay on-brand.
- Answer follow-up questions and approve an outline before slides are created.
The blog post notes that the feature currently supports English only. Rollout began on June 29, 2026, across Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains, with an extended timeline that may take longer than 15 days.
The feature is available to Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, Google AI Pro for Education, and users with the AI Expanded Access add-on. Until at least August 1, 2026, Workspace customers get promotional access to higher generation limits, with a notification shown during this period. Standard per-user limits apply afterward, and Google says more details will appear in the Help Center before that change takes effect. There is no admin control for this feature, according to the announcement.
