X (formerly Twitter) launches Aurora AI image generator

X (formerly Twitter) has introduced a new AI image generation tool called Aurora, integrated into its Grok assistant. According to tech journalist Kyle Wiggers writing for TechCrunch, the tool became available on Saturday but was temporarily removed for some users after a few hours. The image generator can create photorealistic images and handle requests involving public figures and copyrighted characters, though it blocks nude content. Elon Musk confirmed on the platform that Aurora is their “internal image generation system” currently in beta testing. The tool is available to all users of the platform, who can generate up to three images per day without requiring a Premium subscription.
