Writer launches Palmyra Creative to diversify AI-generated content

Writer, an enterprise AI startup valued at $1.9 billion, has introduced a new AI model designed to overcome the uniformity often found in AI-generated content. As reported by Michael Nuñez for VentureBeat, Palmyra Creative uses innovative techniques to produce more varied and original outputs. The model employs merging techniques and adaptive model layering, departing from traditional approaches that rely primarily on expanded training data.

According to Writer’s CTO Waseem AlShikh, the system combines three different models trained on separate datasets to create more dynamic content. The development cost of $700,000 represents significant savings compared to competitors’ similar models. The system includes a “claim detection” feature that ensures accuracy while maintaining creativity, particularly important for specialized fields like healthcare and finance.

Writer has developed new evaluation methods, including a team of 20 linguists who analyzed the model’s outputs and a benchmark system measuring token uniqueness. The company plans to release this benchmark as an open-source tool in January. M

ajor clients including Salesforce, Uber, and L’Oréal are already using Writer’s technology, and the company recently secured $200 million in Series C funding. The model is available through Writer’s API, no-code tools, and the NVIDIA API catalog.
