Salesforce has unveiled Agentforce 2dx, a platform that enables AI agents to work autonomously across enterprise systems without constant human supervision. The system represents a shift from reactive AI interactions to proactive agents that monitor systems and initiate processes independently. Michael Nuñez of VentureBeat reports that this release marks a significant evolution from previous approaches where agents required explicit user prompts. According to Adam Evans, Salesforce’s EVP and GM of AI Platform, the technology aims to address workforce shortages by embedding AI agents into any workflow. The platform includes a “multi-agent framework” allowing personal AI assistants to interact with enterprise agents to complete tasks. Early adopters report substantial cost savings, with Engine estimating nearly $1.9 million in annualized benefits. Agentforce 2dx will be generally available in April 2025, with some features releasing earlier.
