Particle, a startup that uses AI to summarize news articles, has expanded its service to the web with the launch of Particle.news. As reported by Sarah Perez for TechCrunch, the platform aims to help publishers rather than divert traffic from them. The website offers AI-generated summaries of news articles across various categories including Technology, Sports, and Entertainment. Like the mobile app, it extracts key quotes and allows users to view questions and answers about stories, though direct AI interaction isn’t available yet. Particle highlights news outlets by providing direct links to original articles. Founded in 2023 by former Twitter executives Sara Beykpour and Marcel Molina, the company has secured $15.3 million in funding and joins other organizations like Yahoo and Bloomberg in using AI for news summaries.
