Google has made NotebookLM Plus, its AI-powered note-taking and research assistant, available to individual users through the Google One AI Premium plan. As reported by Jagmeet Singh for TechCrunch, the service offers enhanced features including 500 notebooks, 300 sources per notebook, and 500 daily chat queries. The premium version costs $20 monthly, with a 50% discount for U.S. students over 18. The tool includes Audio Overviews, which creates podcast-style conversations from uploaded content. Kelly Schaefer, director of product at Google Labs, confirmed plans to expand language support beyond English and develop a mobile app. While expanding the premium offering, Google emphasizes continued support for free users. According to Similarweb data, NotebookLM attracted nearly 9 million visits in January alone.
