MacPaw launches Eney, a proactive AI assistant for Mac

MacPaw has introduced Eney, an AI assistant for Mac and iPhone designed to monitor activity across apps, files, calendars, and system settings. The company says the assistant identifies tasks that may need attention, prepares a next step, and asks for approval before making changes.

The product targets routine work that often requires moving among several apps, such as preparing for meetings, finding documents, summarizing conversations, and managing follow-up tasks. Eney can detect an upcoming calendar event, offer to transcribe a call, and prepare meeting notes, action items, and a follow-up invitation. Users must approve actions such as sending messages, editing events, or moving files.

Connections and on-screen tools

Eney supports Apple Mail, Calendar, and Reminders directly. It also connects with services including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Slack, Notion, Jira, and Linear. MacPaw says the assistant can offer suggestions after a user copies text, including summaries, translations, currency conversions, and time-zone conversions.

Its Eney Wand feature opens with Option-W. Users can drag content from the screen to the tool to translate text, extract text from an image, create a calendar event from a date, convert a price, or blur sensitive material.

The software also includes Mac maintenance features. It can flag low storage, memory pressure, and repeatedly crashing apps, while offering suggestions for cleanup or troubleshooting. MacPaw says Eney does not move files without confirmation.

Eney is the first product based on MacPaw’s internal AI platform, which includes a memory system called Mnemos. According to the company, Mnemos stores information for Eney’s own memory and does not read or alter files in other apps.

Eney for Mac requires an Apple silicon Mac running macOS 15 or later. A 14-day trial includes 10,000 AI credits. MacRumors reports that paid plans start at $14.99 per month for 10,000 credits. An iPhone companion app is also available, although its mobile eligibility terms appear less clear.
