LinkedIn delivers arguments for tighter AI regulation

LinkedIn uses user data for its own AI training without prior consent. However, the social network has suspended this practice in the EU, EEA, Switzerland and the UK. As Chiara Castro writes for TechRadar, this case shows the importance of strong EU-style privacy laws.

Meta and X (Twitter) had also previously tried to use European user data for AI models, but had to stop after complaints. Experts have criticized the platforms’ opaque approach. LinkedIn users can disable AI training in their settings, but data that has already been used is still affected.
