Groq and PlayAI have partnered to create Dialog, a text-to-speech system that delivers more natural-sounding voice AI. According to Michael Nuñez of VentureBeat, the system combines PlayAI’s voice technology with Groq’s high-speed inference platform. Dialog features an “adaptive speech contextualizer” that maintains awareness of conversation flow, allowing responses with appropriate tone and emotion. The system is available in both English and Arabic, with the Arabic version being the first voice AI specifically designed for the Middle East region. In benchmark testing, users preferred Dialog over competing solutions from ElevenLabs. Groq claims their platform delivers up to 140 characters per second, approximately 10 times faster than real-time speech. The technology is now available through GroqCloud with both free and paid options for developers and enterprises.
