Google has introduced Gemini 3.7 Flash, a new version of its lower cost AI model aimed at coding, workplace tasks and AI agents that use software tools. The company is offering an introductory API price of $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens through the end of 2026. Prices are set to double on January 1, 2027.
Google says 3.7 Flash improves on the version released only three weeks earlier, particularly when models must plan several steps, recover from errors and make tool calls. In its official blog post, Google reports higher scores for software engineering, web development, complex document processing and workflow automation.
On the company’s FrontierCode 1.1 Main benchmark, Gemini 3.7 Flash reaches 43.6 percent, compared with 34.4 percent for Gemini 3.6 Flash. Its score on the DeepSWE software engineering test rises from 49.0 percent to 65.3 percent. Google also reports gains on GDP.pdf, which tests understanding of complex documents, and AutomationBench, an evaluation of business workflow automation.
Focus on practical agent work
The upgrade matters most for tasks where an AI system must do more than write a response. Such systems may need to read files, identify information, use connected applications and prepare a result for a human reviewer. Google says the new model follows instructions more reliably and requires fewer retries or manual interventions.
According to Carl Franzen at VentureBeat, Google’s own comparisons do not show universal leadership against competing models. Gemini 3.7 Flash trails competitors in some terminal and desktop agent tests. Its combination of improved results and lower initial pricing could nevertheless appeal to teams running high volumes of coding or document based agent tasks.
Gemini 3.7 Flash is available through the Gemini API, Google AI Studio, Android Studio and Google’s Antigravity environment. Enterprise customers can access it through Gemini Enterprise products. Google is also deploying it in Gemini Spark for eligible Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.
