Google rolls out Gemini AI to Wear OS smartwatches

Google has begun rolling out its AI assistant, Gemini, to smartwatches running on Wear OS 4 or higher. The announcement was made in a blog post by Jaime Williams, Group Product Manager for Wear OS at Google. According to the company, the update will be available for watches from brands including Pixel, Samsung, and Xiaomi over the coming weeks. Users can activate Gemini with the phrase “Hey Google” or by pressing a button. The assistant can answer questions, create playlists, and summarize emails. It also allows users to set reminders and remember details like a locker number. To use features integrated with Google services like Gmail or Calendar, users must grant permission in the Gemini app on their paired smartphone.
