Three former developers from Google’s NotebookLM project have launched Huxe, an audio-first app that creates AI-hosted podcasts for news and research. Ivan Mehta reports for TechCrunch that the startup has raised $4.6 million in funding. The app, which is now available on iOS and Android, provides a daily briefing based on a user’s emails and calendar. It also lets users explore topics by generating a discussion between multiple AI hosts. According to the developers, users can interact with these hosts to ask questions or request different explanations. A feature called “live station” provides continuous audio updates on developing topics. Co-founder Raiza Martin said the app is well-suited for people who want to catch up on information without looking at a screen.
