The European Commission has announced the first 100+ signatories of the AI Pact. The voluntary pact aims to encourage companies to disclose their approaches to developing and using artificial intelligence. As Natasha Lomas reports for TechCrunch, Amazon, Google, Microsoft and OpenAI are among those who have signed up, while Apple and Meta are missing. The goal is to bridge the gap until the EU AI law comes into full effect. Signatories commit to three key actions, including developing an AI governance strategy and promoting AI skills among employees. They can also choose from a long list of other voluntary commitments.
