A new survey from Salesforce’s Mulesoft reveals that 93% of enterprise IT leaders plan to implement AI agents by 2025. According to the report, published by Taryn Plumb in VentureBeat, organizations currently use an average of 897 applications, but only 29% of these are connected. The study, which surveyed 1,050 IT leaders, found that data integration remains a significant challenge, with 95% of respondents struggling to integrate data across systems. The number of AI models used by organizations has doubled from nine to 18 in the past year. Companies like PenFed Credit Union have already seen success with AI agents, reporting a 20% improvement in first-contact resolution rates using chatbots. IT leaders expect AI to increase developer productivity over the next three years, despite current integration hurdles.
