Anthropic has made its latest AI model, Claude 3.5 Haiku, available to all users through its web and mobile chatbot platforms. According to VentureBeat reporter Carl Franzen, the model was previously accessible only to developers via API since October 2024. The new model features a 200,000-token context window, surpassing OpenAI’s GPT-4 capacity. Third-party benchmarking organization Artificial Analysis reports the model achieves a first-token response time of 0.80 seconds. Users can access Haiku through a free tier with daily message limits or via the Claude Pro subscription at $20 monthly. The model supports image analysis and file processing but lacks web browsing and image generation capabilities. On the API side, it costs $0.80 per million input tokens and $4 per million output tokens, making it a cost-effective option for developers.
