Lightning AI launches marketplace for deploying AI applications securely

Lightning AI has introduced AI Hub, a new marketplace that enables enterprises to find and deploy AI models and applications within their own cloud environments. As reported by Emilia David in VentureBeat, the platform aims to solve the “last mile problem” in generative AI deployment.

The marketplace launches with over 50 APIs, including foundation models and applications. Users can run these applications on Lightning’s cloud or their private enterprise cloud environments. CEO William Falcon emphasizes that AI Hub eliminates the need for specialized platforms and allows organizations to deploy AI solutions while maintaining data security. Companies can connect their AWS or Google Cloud instances to keep data within their virtual private clouds. The platform offers 15 monthly credits for current customers to run applications, with different pricing tiers available for enterprise users.

The launch follows similar marketplace initiatives by companies like AWS Bedrock and Hugging Face, which have also created platforms for AI application distribution. What distinguishes AI Hub is its focus on secure deployment and enterprise integration, allowing organizations to run applications within their firewalls while maintaining control over their data. The platform works with most cloud providers and hosts various popular models, including DeepSeek-R1, though the applications themselves are not open-source. According to Falcon, this approach has already enabled rapid deployment for enterprise customers, with one Fortune 100 pharmaceutical company implementing DeepSeek in production within days of its release.
