Y Combinator-backed Origami Agents has secured $2 million in seed funding to develop AI research agents that support human sales teams. As Michael Nuñez reports for VentureBeat, the San Francisco-based startup focuses on automating sales research tasks rather than replacing sales representatives entirely. Founded four months ago, the company has achieved $50,000 in monthly recurring revenue during its eight-week beta period. The AI system analyzes companies’ digital presence, including job postings and social media, to identify potential sales opportunities. Co-founder Kenson Chung emphasizes that while AI can enhance efficiency, humans remain essential for closing major deals. Early customer Stellar, a property maintenance marketplace, reports that the technology has helped increase their client base significantly, with outbound email close rates four times the industry average.
