Black Forest Labs has released a new API that allows users to customize their AI image generation models with as few as five training images. As reported by Carl Franzen, the FLUX Pro Finetuning API enables professionals to create personalized versions of the company’s FLUX Pro and Ultra models. The tool supports multiple modes including character, product, and style applications, with output resolutions up to four megapixels. Users can train their models using 5-20 images with optional text descriptions. The company has partnered with German media company Burda Verlag to implement the technology in their creative workflows. The service is now available with pricing ranging from $0.025 to $0.06 per generated image, depending on the model tier. According to Black Forest Labs’ internal study, 68.9% of users preferred their fine-tuned results over competing services.
