Intel has revealed its latest Core Ultra 9 processors at CES 2025, featuring significant improvements in AI processing capabilities. According to technology journalist Dean Takahashi’s report for VentureBeat, the new chips deliver two to three times better performance for AI applications compared to previous generations. The flagship Core Ultra 9 processor 285H shows 2.2 times higher performance in AI computer vision tasks and 3.3 times better performance running Llama 3 8B models. The processors include dedicated Neural Processing Units (NPUs) delivering up to 99 TOPS of AI performance. Intel’s new lineup encompasses various models including the 200 H/U/S series, targeting different market segments from mobile computing to desktop systems. The company emphasizes improved power efficiency, with some models achieving up to 8.2 times better performance per watt compared to their predecessors.
