Google has updated its AI note-taking and research assistant, NotebookLM, enhancing its audio summarization feature to allow users to guide AI-generated audio conversations on specific topics. This update lets users customize audio overviews using a dedicated control, enabling them to focus on particular content areas. Raiza Martin, NotebookLM’s product leader, emphasized that this customization helps reduce instances of AI-generated inaccuracies, or “hallucinations.” As TechCrunch reports, this update follows the successful launch if the feature, which saw a 371% increase in traffic to 3.07 million monthly visits.
The tool has gained traction among over 80,000 organizations, prompting Google to launch a NotebookLM Business pilot program for early access to features and support. While the general availability and pricing details for the business version are yet to be announced, Google is actively exploring a mobile app and expanding language options.
