GPT-6 turns ChatGPT responses into charts, forms, and tools

OpenAI is rolling out GPT-6 in ChatGPT, adding a feature called Intelligent UI that lets answers include interactive elements such as charts, buttons, forms, maps, and calculators. OpenAI announces the release in an official blog post, describing it as a broad expansion of its latest model to ChatGPT’s weekly user base.

Intelligent UI is designed to select a response format based on the question. A travel request, for example, could produce a route map with suggested stops. A cooking question could combine a recipe with a schedule. Users can also ask ChatGPT to make simple task-specific tools inside a conversation, such as a savings calculator, a bill splitter, or a small game.

Interfaces generated during the answer

OpenAI says GPT-6 can combine written responses with native interface components from a prebuilt library. A compiler processes those components as the model generates them, allowing parts of an interface to appear before the complete answer is ready.

The company says it trained the model to decide when visuals and interaction improve an answer, and when plain text remains the better choice. It evaluated generated interfaces for clarity, usefulness, and completeness.

GPT-6 also begins responding while it continues to reason through more complex requests. According to OpenAI’s internal tests, GPT-6 Extra High starts answering as quickly as GPT-5.6 Medium while outperforming GPT-5.6 Extra High on selected agentic tasks. For web-based questions, GPT-6 Instant starts responding 44% sooner on average than GPT-5.6 Instant, OpenAI says.

The rollout begins in the Chat tab for Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users. Free and Go users follow the next day. Paid tiers receive GPT-6 Sol, while Free and Go tiers use GPT-6 Luna. OpenAI says the update does not change the models used in Work or Codex.
